  Reo Clone firing pin
Posted by: vern - 08-25-2015, 07:14 PM - Forum: Boxes and tubes - No Replies

I did this mod about a week ago and so far I'm happy with the result.

Reason for doing mod: the reo clone (probably genuine too) has a small firing pin which touches the top of the battery when you push the button. Its a pretty small contact area. Unless you use noalox often, you'll get little scorch marks on your battery...and without noalox your firing pin will degrade and the general advice is NOT to sandpaper it clean as itll remove the coating which makes it wondrous and glorious.

I dont have noalox, so spent my days turning the battery looking for a lucky spot, and got a bit tired of it after a while. a solution was needed.
My KUI mod has a solid contact that is permanently pressed against the battery positive, and then the firing pin hits the opposite side of this contact. I like that, and it has been maintenance free, so I decided to emulate it.

Short story: cut a square of copper, hammer a small nipple into it using a punch or similar, press fit into the plastc housing.

this side:

that side:

in situ:

to make this work I had to get rid of the small turned section in the firing pin, so the firing pin is now a flat section which the button pushes against the top of this copper section. The contact area is quite large now compared to before, and its been running happily now a number of days.
If you copy this, make sure your copper square is a bit oversized so that when you fit it into the plastic you ave to push it into place...that way any force from the battery upwards doesnt dislodge the copper plate. Or glue it or something.

job done

this is a local modder, i think current prices run around $140 AUD [roughly half that for pounds] for a mosfet squonker

Google lead me here.

I am DogMan, I squonk. I'm a bit of a tmod fanboy, but sometimes build mods, generally give them away though, and have a VRWoodMod coming in coming weeks, which I will probably sell cos I don't like wood, I just like the modder's community.

Had a custom classic mod, it was kinda shit, so I swapped it for a third tmod

  Nicotine Base for mixing
Posted by: vern - 08-23-2015, 05:46 PM - Forum: China - Replies (7)

I bought Nicotine base from China about a 2 years and a big ago, and now need to topup again. A few months ago the site I bought from didnt do nicotine base anymore, but checked again today and it is back.

So, before I post the link, I'd just like to remind people about posions licenses and such....72mg is the max we are allowed to have as end users.
and on the site the best match they sell is 7%, i.e. 70mg. So that si the higest level you can legally bring into the country.

The reason I'm posting this info is that it may be time to stock up a bit, and they were extremely well priced, couriered here by DHL, packed like the best I have ever seen, lids glued shut, and the nicotine itself hasnt killed me in over a year and the quality was as good as any I have bought in small quantites in the UK

so
https://www.e-cig.com
on the menu go to "eliquid"--->"DIY Eliquid base"
select your size you want (the price shown is for the base alone, on the next page we get to select our nic level, pg/vg etc and the price will change to reflect that)
e.g. direct link to a 1Litre bottle https://www.e-cig.com/e-liquid-base-1-l at $36 ex shipping if you pick 7% and full VG.

Shipping via DHL express worldwide is $27 for that 1 litre bottle, so the total cost is around $66...or about £40 for a litre of 70mg VG based Nic delivered in three to four days. Mixed at a cloud-chasing 3mg it'll last you almost 500 x 30ml bottles before you need to reorder.

Hope this helps.

This is an authentic device, which can be bought with a bottom feeding pin. I'm actually contemplating it, seems to tick a heck of a lot of boxes

Early indications is around £40-£60 for this item.

  Sainsbury's £4 Beach Bucket BBQ vs...vaping
Posted by: vern - 08-23-2015, 09:48 AM - Forum: ...and the rest - Replies (4)

bought a really cheap beach bucket bbq yesterday as we wanted an impromptu bit of burnt meat...so made a little coal fire in the thing and burnt our meat....but it was such a nice day we just carried on sitting outside and I vaped a bit while some neighbours were sitting about (we got a communual grass area and we all get along well).

So some other neighbours pitches up with some chicken to stick on the bbq (this is common in our area...we all just tend to pitch up and make a thing over a bbq) and we all looked at him like he has lost his marbles because the fire has been out for about an hour...and he says "well, I looked out the window and saw all the smoke so thought we were still cooking".

not smoke dear neighbour..just vapour.:-)

  Sales, trades, PIF, wanted
Posted by: vern - 08-23-2015, 09:25 AM - Forum: General chat - No Replies

Added a new section for sales, trades, swops, pay-it-forwards, wanted etc. Try to keep it squonking related, but there is no hard and fast rule where vaping gear is concerned.

We're all adults so the rules would be simple
1) First to post that they want to buy the thingy, gets to buy the thingy.
2) If you are selling something, PLEASE, put a price, a description, a picture and your location (if you are offering a collection). Your price should include tracked postage
3) If the item is sold, edit the thread title to include the word ***SOLD*** and I'll lock the thread and put the thread somewhere out of the way/archive etc for later reference/disputes and so on.

If you use paypal F+F you're on your own. Seriously, just say NO. If an item is for sale and the seller insists on F+F as payment then I'll go kung-fu on their ass.

If you post something without a tracking number the same applies, you are on your own should something go wrong. Just add the £1 or whatever to your sale price and pay the post office for registered mail. This is to protect you, me, the seller, and Batman. Batman doesn't like it when we post unregistered items.

I dont want to be a nanny to anybody on here, but if something goes wrong feel free to post about it.

possibly the hottest, most humid night of the year so far here in deepest darkest Essex. Really didnt sleep well, kept waking up and having a vape in the kitchen (a small breeze was to be found in this location).
